Reminder that in early 2021 China orchestrated a coup in Myanmar and effectively annexed the entire region
Burma had been in the hands of western powers since the late 80s and this was Chinas response
They completely dismantled the current sitting (owned) government and installed Chinese Party owned puppets to gain full control of Myanmar
The US obviously didn't like this so they almost immediately pulled out their old playbook and started sending operatives and creating informants/assets in the country
the purpose of these operatives was to head resistance cells and act as protest movement leaders and to start another color revolution like the one they orchestrated in 2012
what they didn't count on was that Burma is relatively off the radar unlike a Hong Kong or a Ukraine
China immediately began sending their own soldiers in, they would detain the CIA operatives
they would announce in the local newspapers that they were dead
and then they would sell the organs they harvested from them to the highest bidder
they did this DOZENS of times between February - December 2021
it got so bad that western intelligence has all but fled the nation out of fear that they would be next
operatives being assigned to the region are quitting the CIA
they don't have any informants left in the region
the entire nation is fully and wholly under the control of China now
This is a story of how US intelligence not only lost a nation, a critical nation aimed directly at the heart of china, but how they also got all their operatives killed in one of the greatest fuckups in US military history
