>>19296272>Does /pol/ play any video games or go on any gaming related websites or groups? Not anymore. For a couple of reasons.
1. No soul. All games are bland, boring, homogenized, non-offensive, corporate bullshit.
2. Most everything multiplayer is lootbox/gacha level bullshit. I had a huge tf2 lootcrate addiction, which morphed into a cs:go and dota 2 case addiction. I didn't even like those games. I just wanted the skins. I never had problems with online gambling before. Only when it came to gambling in videogames.
3. Too much wokeness and leftwing bullshit. I've been burned way too many times on shit like gone home and tlou2. I no longer consume any media that I suspect may be woke. If I really want to play/watch something, I wait for trusted review to tell me how woke it is, if it all, or if there are subversive/leftist themes in the product. I then go out and buy. I dont pirate. Because I support what I want to see more of. And I recently learned that piracy counts as an 'interest metric' by hollywood accounting, which leads companies to create more woke shit. So yeah, if you wanna kill woke shit. Dont even pirate the woke shit. Let it die from disinterest.
I used videogames as a surrogate for what I was lacking in life. In my case it was feeling like a winner. I used to play hours of military fps games like cod, bf, etc. Then I moved on to the more hardcore shooters like squad and arma.
When my life was in the shitter or I was feeling depressed. I would marathon videogames for 6-8 hours a day, everyday after school and work. I would neglect myself too. I lost a job and flunked a semester, because I played wow nonstop and missed classes and shifts. I missed showers and got fat off of doritos and coke.
Now I rarely if ever play videogames. I have no patience or appetite for them. The few videogames I'm interested in are what they call "old man games." Where everything is expensive as fuck. Think train simulator.
Now I hit the gym.
