Great, that means you have proven that God exist for you and you're actually closer to him than you think.
Being "ashamed" of something means you have some moral. And having moral means you have some "fear" or "apprehension" of something bigger and wiser than you and having the possibility to judge you!
Great that's God. And you know what ? He forgives everyone who truly come back to him and repent.
In Matthew 7, Jesus said : “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened."
