Americans have forgotten what a pickup truck is. Let's remind them.

Attention Americans: this is a pickup truck.
It is a relatively small, inexpensive, low-tech vehicle built primarily for utility in hauling loose tools and supplies around a farm, rather than for carrying passengers or traveling long distances.
It does not have two rows of seats. If it does, rear seats will be small "bench style" which function primarily as covered storage. If there is no room for passengers, they can ride in the bed.
It is the ideal vehicle for rural farm workers, who will be unaffected by its relatively poor aerodynamics and fuel efficiency, not for people who live in suburbs and commute to work daily.
The frame is stiff, the suspension and tires are built for off-road, and most importantly, the wheelbase is short making it great for traversing potentially difficult farm terrain, at the cost of poor fuel economy and high noise pollution when on paved roads.

I hope you enjoyed my introduction to the pickup truck. Please stop allowing car manufacturers and government environmental regulations to screw you out of real pickup trucks in place of the current overpriced, oversized, electronic abominations by the same name. And stop buying those abominations too. You aren't helping those of us who know and want actual pickup trucks.
