>>19351837Seconded. Most grocery stores don’t have a police detail, especially in the suburbs. The most “bang for your buck” would be things like rice, beans, pasta, bread… outside of junk food (inb4 pasta and bread are junk food), simple carbs will be pretty calorie dense. Fats and protien as well. Things that don’t have water in them will usually feed you more per ounce of food. So nothing canned and no fresh produce. Like you could eat a 1;oz can of green beans as a side in two meals but a pound of ground meat could be stretched over four meals.
Then again, you could fill your basket with whatever, run out to your car, load up, and speed off before anyone even said anything. So really just take whatever. But it would be kind of stupid to do that and end up with a full cart that only lasts 4 days instead of two weeks.
Also food pantries, ie a place liberals dump the canned crap they don’t want to feel good about themselves.
