For anyone who doesn’t know: Burzum is the project of Varg Vikernes, a black metal artist who murdered his own band-mate.
He used to burn churches down to enact “revenge” on Christianity.
He also actively identifies as a Nzi, claims that there is an international Jewish conspiracy to suppress European society and said last year he “appreciates” when people call him a Nzi.
I am a fan of both Black Metal and paganism so this post is nothing against either of those things, it’s just highlighting how utterly insane this choice was.
He’s meant to be a born-again-Christian seeking forgiveness for antisemitism, but here he is donning the iconography of a pagan, Nazi, semi-Satanist murderer.
Desperate grab for attention or petulant stubbornness? Either way it’s one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen.
