They chose to establish themselves and build numerous underground cities in Antarctica due to its remoteness and hostile climate that would make it very inaccessible to people.
Anytime you read a story about a politician traveling to Antarctica to "fight climate change," they are really going to have in person meetings with their non human masters at one of the many DUMBs under the ice. In addition to this, there are numerous secret bases and government installations on the surface. Far more than they tell you about. Like, they actually have runways for fighter jets and other military craft. The world is one big joke against the surface populace.
You don't have to believe me. I can't provide you with any real proof; but, I can say this is as close to the truth as you're likely to come in this lifetime unless humanity comes together and we defeat them.
