A lot of Polish people seem to have an inferiority complex about their nationality. I think same goes for a lot of central/eastern/slavic European countries. Russians on the other hand seem very proud of their country, despite the current living conditions being way shittier than most of Europe and the country being a joke internationally these days. Why is that? Recently I try to be more proud of my nationality, but it seems like the Russians are still ahead of eastern europe in terms of establishing themselves as its own thing with their own customs and style, instead of imitating the West. I kind of respect that, but it's curious, as Russia is still undeniably a shit place to live in. To any other poorer Euros, am I correct that a lot of people in your country also have an inferiority complex? Russians, what do you think about this topic?
