there's a nonzero chance (all the way up to a sizeable percentage) that someone or something that you're interacting with on the internet is an active sockpuppet of the PATRIOT system
and that's just the active component
the passive component attributes a set of cookies, IPs, and UIDs to you, and filters what you can see and what is shown to you on the internet. The PATRIOT system is linked with Google (they run on the same servers, actually) and passively filters every bit of information filtered to you.
This is also the reason why they get so tremendously pissy when you use pihole/adblock/degoogled browsers/alt OS'. it's not because they lose ad revenue, it's because it interferes with their online tracking system and fucks with PATRIOT's ability to modify your behavior by decreasing the resolution of their tracking.
