People do whatever they're told, if redditors are making fun of you remember they will never do it with black people, Jewish people and other groups they're told they cannot make fun of. You don't have to take them seriously. They're not people, they're word prediction engines.
They make fun of us, but they don't make fun of for example our neighbours, because they're too insignificant.
Just keep grinding. We have built our country with our own hands, we don't go around begging other countries for funds only to squander them on insignificant shit. We may have problems but we had no one to help us out of the very bad places we were in, in fact we were only ever met with hostility. We've managed to survive, and managed to thrive in spite of that.
