The expected value of the amount of children then becomes sum(n*0,5^n;n=1 to infinity)
I didn't feel like doing any manual calculations so i used wolfram, but the expected value is 2
Given that there is always 1 male, there is on average 1 female and the ratio is therefore 1:1
With the recursive method: n=1+0,5n so n=2 with one male so 1:1 ratio (just draw out the probability tree and you'll see)
