>>19628962Holistic medicine has its place.
Chiropractors are good for relief but not necessarily going to treat everything. They can be helpful for slip discs and I’ll actually recommend them before getting surgery, since a disc is something that will often fix itself and a chiropractic adjustment can help side in the healing by releasing pressure and reducing swelling. What it won’t do is magically replace lost cartilage or muscle tears.
I always think people should try holistic approaches before surgery. I think a lot of ortho surgeons are fucking retards who want money. If you ask me, the only applicable practice of surgery is emergency surgery. Everything else is a lie that can be taken date of with lifestyle adjustments. Well, almost everything except for cancer or certain diseases
>acupuncture Eh. Never really believed in it but I’ve met people who swear by it. I’d write this one off desu, at least as a treatment. I think it’s more of something like yoga and meditation. It can be good for you but I have a hard time believing it can actually heal anything.
>herbalistMost medicines are actually herbs. Granted, they’re concentrated differently. Still, I think herbs can be very beneficial to overall health. But if you have an infection and need antibiotics and take herbs instead, you’re probably going to die unless the infection was never serious in the first place and would have healed in its own.
All of it has a place in my book. If you’re asking me, I’d NEVER get surgery unless my actual immediate life depended on it. I’d rather do massage, chiropractic, acupuncture, herbalist, anything to fix my woes before surgery. But, physical therapy is most likely going to be the best bet over all that at the end of the day. The body will heal itself if you give it the tools! In almost all cases at least
