They identify several domains of human division/groupings (sex, race, religion, orientation), attribute to the majority group of each of those areas the title of oppressor (the oppressor religion is christianity because the west is traditionally a christian civilization despite most modern people being ambiguously spiritual or atheist) and all other minority groups that are not the majority are inherently oppressed by virtue of not being the oppressor, regardless of the actual interactions between the groups, context, etc. The Left supports Islam because Islam is "oppressed" purely by virtue of not being christians. Cultural Marxism dictates that all oppressed groups are allies against the oppressor class (straight white men with wholesome traditional morality) regardless of the fact that two or more "oppressed" groups may be fundamentally incompatible.
