To point you in the right direction, I'll say this: 4chan memes are different. They are unformulaic and so ironically self-aware that even 4chan frequenters dont actually know what's going on. There is a lot of "just playing along" involved in the inside jokes of 4chan and other 4chanisms. Rarely do they 'make sense' in the conventional way. Often times there is nothing to 'get', but rather 'become familiar with.'
