Germany wasn't split in 2 after WWII it was split into 3..
Yet we had the wrong kind of reunifacation...Baviarian&Rheinian Germany would have been way better if unified with Baviarian Austria. Yet we were handed back to the remains of Prussia to exist as a colony of Berlin again.
It's just sad.

Off course this was never great for the Flemish.
Belgium has no foundation to constitute a proper state.
It would have made more sense to sort things out between Germany and France way earlier and get a proper European order that everyone could have lived with.

Why would anyone want it to be like that, a united Holland served better for that purpose.

Still I respect westies so such a country managed to exist for more than 200 years. In eastern Europe it wouldn't survive 20.

Germany didn't exist yet in 1830. And Belgium wasn't meant to be ruled by the walloons since most walloons still only spoke walloon dialects in the 19th century. French was only the language of the elite (walloon and flemish). The tensions between walloons and flemish started later, at the end of the 19th century/early 20th century.
