We're told that It's socially acceptable to display happiness even if you don't have it, and not doing so divides you from accepted cultural norms. People actually value other people's anecdotal interpretations of who they are over their own. And these assholes are capitalizing on that. It's incredibly nefarious. We're so preoccupied with trying to feel good that were not making good decisions for ourselves. Like spending money on a personality description.
As for IQ, the only people that treat that number as if it shows anything other than plausible capability aren't the type to use the internet for learning. Again unofficial tests (and arguably official ones as well) only serve to bolster the ego of uninformed insecure nobodies. Anyone that got a low score sure ain't sharing it.
