>>19850076I travelled up the Sinai and over to Cairo with a very attractive very black lady who was half my age, and had gold earrings and an incredible hair do, she was helping get some hydro-electric contract for her company. It was only after a while I figured out she was some sort of company hooker, but we were good company. I think I bought her a couple of meals. In subsequent years a Punjabi neighbour of mine, who was again rather younger than myself, used to cajole me to go to restaurants with her, but I am a good cook and mostly she used to eat at my house. I don't know that I have ever gone on a 'date' in my life. I used to have a Chinese friend when I was on the ships, and I know I used to buy her things like er, a cheap hotel room and trot her round bars and must have fed her now and again. But I can't put my finger on anything I would call a 'date', just hanging around with female friends and giving them whatever they felt like. A 'date' sounds kind of formal, I just do what I think female friends might like. I don't know anything about these dating things on mobile phones or whatever, and I am kind of picky about my friends. It takes a while for me to trust people.
