Cells are more energy efficient than methane, ammonia, water vapour, and carbon dioxide in gaseous states when those gases interact with something that has great mass. The constant contact with earth's crust led to the formation of cell like structures somehow and due to constant friction of interacting with a solid. Energy conservation is the only driving force in Space so this gas theory. God took his time to create the first cells and without God it couldn't have happened.

So, before the 7 days it took for God to create the world as we know it, a bunch of friction and farts started creating membranes that led to cell like structures because space was saving energy.
