While not too common in the past, Japanese society has become very accepting of that kind of relationship. For example, many Japanese families have begun to encourage their daughters to find a Black man to either date or marry, often because it's seen as a good way to ensure the continuation of their family legacy. Another reason is that BmAf relationships are well suited for increasing the birth rate in Japan, especially in the context of how promiscuous Japanese women have become. But the BmAf phenomenon has a cultural dimension too. Many Japanese girls and women admire American Black culture, a culture which has gained very high social status in East-Asia, especially in South Korea and Japan.
Furthermore, many claim that sub-Saharan cultures are inherently compatible with Japanese culture. This is sometimes due to what many Black people call the "African origins of Japan". During those times, many Japanese daimyo and shoguns awarded these influential Black men leadership positions in their families and clans.
