Apply that demand to almost any other historical event or book and see how impossible it would be. All there ever has been are theories and consensus, even about the most seemingly mundane events in history.
The difference is that religious experiences affect individuals in a way that transcends quantifiable experience, as seen all over the world since the beginning of time.
Why don’t you worry less about which book/god is “true” and think more about what brings about this phenomenon?
