my actual problem was that they would radically shake up the world every few episodes without ever really exploring any of the consequences. whenever i was half-used to the status quo there would be a Crazy Plot Twist and the slack-jawed characters would mumble about it and then move on
not exactly bad writing but thoroughly uninteresting to me
