I repeat: buy low, sell high.
Do not do the opposite of buying when something went up in price for a long time, then selling after it went low for a long time.
Instead, wait until the thing that has going low for a long time starts consistently going up, at that point you start buying. When that trend reverses for a non-trivial period of time, you switch and start selling as it goes down.
Do not aspire to buy or sell on a single transaction at the correct top or bottom. But also, do not perform thoughtless automated buying or selling.
Aspire to buy late, and sell late.
Miss the top, miss the bottom.
But always sell for a more expensive price than you bought, and always buy for a cheaper price than you sold.
