I love the German people, their food, wine, and their culture
but I don't respect them
they have an enormous chip on their shoulder, and yet are arrogant and delusional; they can't see the wood for the trees, and they actually seem to prefer this self-delusion to being pragmatic about the reality of a given situation, ultimately becoming angry and irrational when reality clashes with the faulty mental construct in which they live
many of them are as robots, living solely for their work, and the ones who are not, despite their best intentions, still seem to blindly internalise the lies of the television and of the newspaper; they're a people who have already been annihilated; conditioned to a self-hating slave mentality which pervades seemingly every one of their thoughts and actions, individually and collectively
they're ultimately responsible for the taboos surrounding genetic science (including eugenics, human genetic modification, etc.), as well as nationalism and militarism, etc. - the continued permeation of which may ultimately prove to be the death of the species, as we continue to venerate weakness, ignore stark differences, and allow other peoples to run roughshod over us out of fear of causing them offense
I view them as ultimately the same people as my own; two tribes, two languages, two cultures of the same family; and I do love them as our cousins
but I don't respect them
