Take the atheist pill

No.19945043 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
One argument that I constantly see on /pol/ is that the decline of religion has led to the decline of society. However, when you take a look at real world data, this is really not true at all. The USA as a whole is much more religious than Europe as a whole, but society here is declining faster than it is there. Most of the liberal cancer that originates in the USA is a direct result of the large role that Christianity plays in politics and government here.

Every action has a reaction that is equal in magnitude and opposite in direction. In recent years, the GOP has moved further and further to the right and has courted the religious right. Evangelicals are being elected to congress, state legislatures, and governorships, and are even being appointed to the Supreme Court. These people want to govern based on what their holy text says (or what they think it says since most of them have never touched a Bible). The overturning of Roe v Wade is a prime example; most Americans were fine with the status quo but the Supreme Court overturned it anyway, despite knowing that chaos would ensue. This shouldn't even be a political issue, but somehow it is, and people are reacting naturally.

People complain about how atheists are arrogant reddit neckbeard faggots, but again, that's an American phenomenon. European atheists are normal people because of the fact that religion plays little to no role in their countries. They have no need to be militant because they're not constantly being screamed at by religious nuts who want to control their lives.

So no, lack of religion isn't leading to the decline of society. It's the shoving of religion down our throats that's causing our downfall. Take the atheist pill.
