I think that's why people call it a near death experience-like drug because the contrast and speed that it hits you is so profound.
Also it only lasted 15 minutes but I felt like I was in another world for an entire lifetime. When I finally came down I felt like I had been gone for 100 years. I was actively remembering my name, my species, the planet I live on, everything.
It felt like a "rebirth" in that sense because you come back with a completely clean slate. It's like renting a video game from blockbuster and loading up someone else's Zelda save file.
