Really though off-road performance is all about traction, suspension, and ground clearance. Off the lot/straight from the manufacturer you’ll see bigger wheels and shorter fronts on GMC’s that naturally improve their approach and departure angles. I think GMC, like dodge, also offers more options for aggressively treaded tires out the gate. But again, it’s all about options. The off-road packages (wheels, tires, trim, suspension tuning) for chevy’s and fords kinda put them on the same level but also are an additional up charge.
Idk if I want to get into differentials and gearing lol. I’m trying to watch transformers with my kid. Bottom line is that if you’re willing to put the time/money into it then just about any truck in the same engine class and size can be as good as any other. But some are better off-road than others using standard equipment.
