>>20015050Where I live, a generator and supplies to wait out an electrical outage is are must-have's. I'm sure your power will be restored soon. Unless you live in a very remote area, they do a good job of repairing stuff fast these days. The longest I've gone without power is 3 days, and that was a black swan type event (at least for this area). A hurricane came through and wiped out about 50 lines in a 20- to 30-mile radius.
That being said, I'd definitely make a little kit for whenever you do lose it in the future; the candles they sell in the jewish section of the supermarket for sabbaths and hannukah are cheap (kek) and they put out a ton of light and heat. Also, making a simple stove from a jar or a can that runs on rubbing alcohol is excellent for heating up your coffee with a French press or whatever.
Finally, I will admit that whenever our power goes out, I get this unbelievable sinking feeling that I can't shake. Usually I just write in my journal, read a few chapters of a book, or play my guitar. When it comes back, I find myself feeling extremely grateful for what I have.
