Obviously, it didn't fit him because leather stretches when heated and contracts when chilled. The leather glove was taken out of a chilled storage unit just before it was handed to OJ to see if it does fit him.

He was told before trying the glove to not let it fit.
He held his hand in such a way that the close fitting gloves did not slide on.
They were his size and he had bought them.
He was putting them on OVER a latex glove, try that out yourself, it wont work.
