Basically Stars are created in what is called a Z Pinch, this is when two massive electric currents (also known as Birkeland Currents) form a Magnetic field and Short Circuit. Along that Short Circuit (also know as Herbig Haro objects) the Star and the Jovians (Gas Giants) are forming.
Planets and Moons however are created by these Jovians, this is why every Gas Giant has so many Moons around it, Jovians are basically planet factories and they shit them out through these "Storms", like that huge Red Spot on Jupiter, the Great Dark Spot on Neptune, the huge vortex on Uranus or the Hexagon on top of Saturn which is said to be the Birthplace of Earth.
So basically during these stress events like Novas these Jovians break off a part of their own Plasma core, shit it out which then forms the Plasma Core of the new Planet/Moon.
After it is born it electrically self aligns into an Orbit.
