i watched insomnia in the theater, idk why i did it, first and only time i've ever watched a thriller or any kind of non-bombastic movie in the theater. i remember it was pretty atmospheric and moody. i remember next to nothing about ninth gate. i think i thought it was kind of retarded but maybe that was a stylistic choice i didn't get at the time
