On the night of wednesday to thursday (CET) we were so close to WW3, you guys cant even fathom it. Due to a technical issue, the launch of an unanounced russian rocket, for satellite delivery, was mistaken for an ICBM launch. B52 nuclear bombers were send in the air and ready to strike russian targets. Due to the still established redphone the catastrophy was warded pretty much in the last second. Since Russia, seeing those bombers and actviity, activated their entire nuclear arsenal for a retalitory strike.
That was also one of the reasons Israel backed off from attacking Iran btw.
