>>20088945it was probably 7 years ago, when i was bootstrapping. my mom was "leasing" to me one of her houses. this house was in a horrible ghetto, and she essentially saddled me with the entire upkeep up the house + her making a full market value profit off me. so i was dirt broke. at this time my car broke down and i didnt have the money for it and was walking everywhere, usually at night because i worked the worst shifts for the highest differential. it was after my at the time gf broke up with me to e-date some guy across the country she never ended up meeting.
so there i was, the house was falling apart (because it was stipulate the entire house was my problem, and that included that they left me with a roof that had a gaping gigantic hole), ceilings collapsed, half the house without water, bathroom had the whole ceiling cave in and was unusable so i hadn't showered. i was overdrafted on my bank, nobody would give me credit, power was off because i was using the money to pay for classes. the electric lighter on the stove was off so id light a match to ignite the gas. i spent a whole week eating one $2 pack of noodles and broth a day. the day i came home to the hot water tank (that i couldnt even use) busted and having flooded the house, i sat there in the dark with my pot of noodles and genuinely wondered if it wouldnt be better to go and do a flip off a bridge.
anyway it wasnt that bad i just needed to finish my studies and keep my career going, i have a wife and a house and a baby on the way now, 7 years seems like such a short time to turn it around so much.
