Yesterday was her birthday and she wanted me to watch a beauty and the beast or her via iPad. We've done it for years.
About 40 minutes in she asked me why I wasn't married and gave her a new auntie. I litterally froze and tried to bullshit my answer. Luckily they were ready to eat dinner and she got called to the table.
I didn't have the heart to tell her the truth and how bad things have become. At the same time my oldest sister would cut contact with me if I did say something.
It made me very depressed with think how I did everything right got the degree and ended only making $14.50 an hour, still living at home, and never having a girlfriend at 25.
I got lucky she didn't continue to press that issue for the rest of the movie.
How is one to even approach this topic with the younger generation?
