Bumble - the app where women USED TO be the only initiators - started removing that requirement in certain regions until globally rolling it out a week ago, because statistically, they never messaged first, or gave a single wave emoji hoping the guy would carry the conversation instead. Most engagement was from guys using the paid message-first feature, which you used to be able to do 5 times a day for free, then limited to 1, then axed entirely around November, because ALSO statistically, women attach more value to those if they're a paid feature at all times, since this obviously means the dude has money to burn
https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/30/tech/bumble-relaunch-men-make-first-move/index.htmlSo yeah, the app created by a feminist think tank was circling the drain because women don't actually want all the power, they want a guy to pursue them and make them feel desired, and on the app for Okcupid and Tinder burnouts, this takes a psychological toll on the average 30-something who still makes the exact same (bad) choices she did on Okcupid and Tinder in her 20's, it's why out of all the apps, Bumble has the lowest numbers of them all - they want the same dudes that flooded their notifications on the others, but refuse to accept that those guys aren't gonna be on Bumble. Match is probably gonna kill it soon either way, because they've split it into two other apps as it is, the most women use it for are advertising their Snap, IG, OF, or all three, and because that's the most they use it for, they don't touch thouse accounts
