Yes, merging boards together ain't a great idea but it's still better than doing nothing and slowly waiting to die. 4chan had a long run already and you gotta start looking to attract new generations. It does however mean that the "oldfags" will get displeased with the new dynamics but they're becoming a minority if they aren't already one.
