Look Im gonna be honest with you. You are not gonna make it. Why? Success is something you are born to be. All the things you think are holding you down. It is possible but I basically had to cut off everyone from my old life and correct things my parents failed at. You have to really want it though and accept that you’ll fail along the way.

Can’t say that my life has radically changed. I can summon willpower for things such as above, but finding a new job is like pulling teeth and despite all my health efforts i now have weird ass floaters in one eye that are freaking me out

I quit drinking and smoking this year. Health wise I feel great, I can finally sleep and I'm hungry all the time. My shits are actually solid now, and my mind seems more clear. Haven't done excersise or anything yet. Also had a raise at work since I'm apparently much more agile and efficient and my memory is begining to work properly again.

I took out a 25k student line of credit. I made it so I either succeeded or failed so hard I’d never recover. I also worked part time while in school to keep debt slightly minimized. It still sucked, and I finished with over 50k of debt which is gone now.

Make incremental life changes and only compare yourself against your former self, and no one else.

Observe what successful people have done and blaze your own trail. Listen to what others have to say but don’t regard their thoughts above your own. Follow your gut a be brutally honest with yourself. Never feel pressured to do or say what others want you to. Figure out what you are astute at, what comes easy to you, and what you enjoy doing and do that. If analysis is easy for you do that rather than struggling with something you’re not naturally as good at.

The 30's and 40's were supposed to be the best years of my life and even though it started out pretty good, it ended up in disaster and it's over basically. Even if I start my comeback now it will take another 10 years until the good times return. But I won't start now because I've lost all faith, not just in myself but in everything, and when you don't believe in anything it's extremely hard to accomplish anything.

I got eye floaters. I got so paranoid I went to go get an MRI. My insurance legitimately approved of it. I did this mind you after going to an eye doctor who said she didn't see anything. You can't. That being said, your upbringing is of utmost importance when it comes to expressing your potential and most people are idiots who weren't fit to be parents (either too stupid/mentally unstable or too poor or both) but had offspring anyway to conform or prolong a relationship.

It takes time to undo the damage they might've done to your self-esteem and body and the lack of guidance they provided, however, you might discover talents you didn't know you had later in life for that very reason.

The key is finding the right motivation.

I was a suicidal shut-in neet up until I turned 27 (grew up with abusive parents who really did a number on me), failed everything I could fail including school and hadn't worked a day in my life up to that point, 10 years later I'm a total workaholic, I have a job in academics and research that takes discipline and dedication, an 8/10 fiancée 10 years my junior I'm about to marry and my own place.

A year of therapy really helped shifting the blame from myself towards my incompetent parents.

This is wrong.

Will power is about hormones. everything you do is affected by and effects your hormones. You can get trapped in negative feedback loops (usually by over indulging) and get stuck being unproductive, but it is possible to reset your hormones and radically change as a person.
