We HAVE to get married. Why? Because we just HAVE to.
We can’t just live together, be together, have children together, be a unit under god. We just HAVE to get “married” and have this label. You just HAVE to get in your knees and propose with a ring. You just HAVE to have a big and expensive ceremony to celebrating. You just HAVE to tell the government this because none of it is real if the government that hates us and has 0 of our best interest doesn’t know. Why get married? Aside from a label does it have any influence whatsoever on your actual relationship? Your actual love? Nope. But you grew up on TV and the TV says that’s what’s SUPPOSED to happen. Not because of God, we don’t go to church lmao, not because of a necessity because nothing prevents us being together outside of marriage, but PURELY because you saw it so much in TV that you think it’s not “official” unless you marry and tell the government. And if we wanna split, well we HAVE to lawyer up and divorce and split assets while each fighting to keep more than the other.
So fucking stupid I swear to god. No other cultures have this problem.
