contradictions in the bible
-- Jesus gets two completely different genealogies that don't even make sense
-- Jesus gets two completely different birth stories that majorly contradict each other.
-- Jesus is driven into the wilderness by Satan to fight demons immediately after his baptism....but in John he's just walking through the town the next day. He also meets Peter in a completely different circumstance in John.
-- Jesus is crucified on two different days of the year, at two different times of day.
-- Jesus gets 4 contradictory Resurrection stories. The most major disagreement is the location of the resurrection, Mark and Matthew say Galilee, Luke and John say Jerusalem.
It's easy to score potshots on Christianity because the 4 overlapping accounts provide ample evidence of contradictions. But the mythological bullshit in the Old Testament is even worse.
-- Dragons and unicorns, talking donkey
-- A flat earth with a firmament over the sky that leaks water
-- Extremely brutal bronze age religious laws
-- Pages and pages of genocide and rape of young girls
-- Exodus which depicts god as a vengeful fire demon who demands blood sacrifice and offers earthly rewards in exchange for obedience.
-- The 10 commandments which is a whole ball of wax in itself . Long story short, the commandments everyone thinks of were actually smashed, the 2nd set of commandments is different and includes bizarre rituals and instructs them not to boil baby goats in their own mother's milk
-- Even the story of Genesis is filled with craziness and Old World mythology, badly copied from Mesopotamian myths that we know predate the bible.
-- Tracing backward the ages and dates tells us the earth is 6000 years old, and the Great Flood happened in 2300 BC
I mean come on. Imagine believing any of this stuff. You aren't an illiterate medieval peasant, none of this should be convincing to you.
