So I recently came close to dying in the hospital, actually close enough to where I knew I'd never leave.
This did two things to me. Changed me mentally and also physically. It's easy to think about death and say we're all going to die etc, but when you actually truly face death, you get a rare opportunity. Most people never get to fully process that experience because well, they die.
Since then I have been troubled by my finite nature. I've felt disconnected from my fellow people of the planet since then. Like I truly know what it means to be finite now if that makes sense. I thought I knew, but now I really, really know.
Have you ever faced death (no "I made an owie on my wrist when I was 16" shit) and how did it change you?
