Left and Right in Canada are more about level of control over industry and level of preference to industry, rather then the yankee or western european understanding of left and right referring to tolerance of private ownership of industry at all. in Canada there's a general understanding that some things just belong in the hands of government, and that the government should keep their hands off of basically everything else, regardless of your other political leanings. irrigation, power, etc. are always going to be crown corporations even in the most libertarian hands that arent outright anarchists, and even the most staunch commies will let Coca-Cola and Disney in to sell goods and media.
ive gone off on a tangent but basically Ontario is garbage, everywhere that isnt Ontario is OK, and Trudeau is seen as not even that far left except for ">muh rapefugees" because hes still buying fighter jets from the west and not nationalizing construction
