>Mainland ChineseNo
Mainland Chinese are physically attractive, smart, exotic etc and I find Chinese history and culture interesting, but in my experience modern mainland China is not a recipe for a good gf.
Maybe I just got unlucky but I've been in a relationship with 3 mainland Chinese girls (2 were long-distance, 1 was a FoB university student in the UK) and they were all overworked (mostly beyond their control in the case of the long-distance, but self-imposed for the student) and brainwashed.
What I mean by brainwashed was we couldn't discuss each other's differences without it being taken personally and seen as hostility. In my search for a girl to settle down with I've spoken to girls from all over the world and discussion over our different cultures and countries is usually something both parties find interesting and brings us closer together. Some girls can be uninterested about that kind of discussion but it's only with Chinese girls that it's taken as an attack on their way of life.
I ended up settling down with a Vietnamese girl in the end. Probably the closest thing to a Chinese gf without actually being Chinese, even though she'd probably hate that comparison. Like many young Viets she has resentment and distrust against Chinese yet she's a closet-sinoboo when it comes to her media consumption.
>>20622884Good for you man. Despite my complaining above, for guys like you who've made it work I support it.
