Last winter (November 17th) the weather went from -14 Celsius and clear skies to -30 (with windchill) and so much snow that you couldn't see your hand at arms length.
In just 3 hours we had nearly 2 meters of fresh snow. The winds (mixed with ice) cracked one of my windows before I had time to close the shutters.
Our town has an alarm that goes off when storms are coming, like the arctic version of a tornado warning.
