Your mind was created from information carried by it. It sure can be influenced by memes, but within certain parameters set by the dna.
The desire to use contraception (or whatever) comes in some way from it as well. It's just that the part that tells you to have an easy life without kids (again, or whatever your reason is) is winning over the part that wants kids. Maybe because it is disappointed in you and thinks you are a dead fucking end.

I was rewarded a relationship with zero sexual compatibility or chemistry, and the frustration leaks into other aspects of our relationship; I have children and can't reasonably see leaving for their sake, but goddamn am I miserable. Never do this.
