>>20677844Yeah you're right, go for it if you want to. For genuine drawing advice i'd say get a cheap tablet, it's not impossible to draw with a mouse and some pro artists even did it before tablets became widespread but it will most likely be uncomfortable and annoying, investing in a cheap tablet will probably make drawing more fun which is important.
Some people will tell u that u should start with paper first but i don't think it's true, i think digital is a perfect way to start and that it's even better than paper because paper is unforgiving whereas digital allows you to fail faster and to try much more things in the same timeframe to experiment what works and what doesn't. Yeah digital makes it easier but it makes it easier to learn and to make progress too imo.
Don't bother with any books or any kind of "method", there's no magic formula for drawing. Each artist does it differently, part of learning how to draw is learning who you are and how you would do it. Don't bother with schooling or teachers either. I guess art friends or having someone to look up to is good. Or rather if you bother with a method don't go convincing yourself that it's "the way" to do it, it's just one way someone does it, use it if you find it speaks to you, or don't if it doesn't.
Essentially think in 3D, your brain must become some kind of 3D engine. You observe the world (be it from life or reference), you internalize its shape and then you can retranscribe it on paper.
