>>20679437They do achieve something. I been banned for short periods, posting an off topic thread...but it changed my behavior for the better. I was bitter and upset that I could only lurk for 3 days, it gave me a lot to think about. I could have whined and complained but I waited patiently down to the minute of ban expiration. I was then finally able to post again.
It made me touch grass and realize there are consequences to my actions, and that there are rules on this board which are strictly enforced. Just like a speeding ticket, I got one in my life and never speed anymore out of fear of getting pulled over in a speed trap or by a speed camera.
Easy to talk now, but when you get a one week ban you will be pretty pissed off and regret making the offending post. The staff on this site are wonderful and I have seen a lot of leeway and discretion lately...especially on the weekends.
