Furry Fandom was something that was started in California from a sci-fi artist who made anthro characters in his comic. It got a big following and branched off into its own thing. It wasn't till just a few decades ago the LGBT took it over because furry cons were a safe haven for them. There was no gate keeping in the Furry Fandom so what was once a sci-fi/fantasy nerd hobby became a political statement. You see it now with star wars. The gay ruins everything it touches.
