Theoretically, as a citizen of the US, what is stopping me from going to a foreign shithole and joining a war? Say I wanted to go to Southern Thailand and fight with the Malay population there against the Thai government. Besides the Thai government, what stops me?
Southern Thailand is just an example, the same could be applied to Iraq/Syria, shitholes in Africa, etc.
