They only partially displaced the Celts. The ancestry of Western and Northern England is significantly different than in the South and East. Moreover, the culture of London is hardly the same as that of Liverpool. Or for that matter, Wales, Cornwall, York, or anywhere near the Scottish border. Then Scotland itself, and Northern Ireland.
White is an ancestral grouping. That doesn't mean all white people are the same. For example, the average white American is predominantly Nordic. Thus the average white American is far more Aryan than the average European.
