>>20753693the act of sensing is itself imagining
we seem to be having fun with vision, so we could ask what color a stop sign is if nobody ever sees it.
the logical answer is it has not color until it is seen. Because color is a quality of light interacting with an eye and a brain.
we could say instead it has a wavelength, but even that is a quality of the energy interacting with a tool that then translates information to an eye and a brain. The wavelength also doesn't exist until it is measured and observed.
so to imagine nothing would require also stopping of the senses. And for similar reasons, the stopping of consciousness itself
the only way to imagine nothing is to not imagine anything, and to do that requires unconsciousness. But an unconscious person isn't imagining nonexistence because imagining is itself a conscious experience.
you cannot be conscious of an unconscious state.
