1st son difficult: made bad choices like don't go to school, put zero effort into school, think the old man had it easy so life must take no effort at all... bad career choices...
2nd Daughter difficult: learned the mentally ill game, play it for all it's worth, lots of support for flunking out, says up all night, sleeps all day, gets female school officials and psychotherapist to all denounce the patriarchy and tell her everything that dad does is wrong and evil. Somehow has a 1950s "Father Knows Best" idea of what a family is supposed to be.
If life had do-overs, I do the heretical Marion worship, get a catholic trad wife, confess everything damned little thought and temptation as a mortal sin, and home school cuz Catholic schools are full of evil now.
